Holiday Sausage Roll-Ups
 |
16
rolls
1 package (16 ounces) spicy pork
sausage
1/2 medium red bell pepper, diced
4 scallions, thinly sliced
2 packages (8 ounces each)
refrigerated crescent rolls (8 rolls each) |
- Preheat the
oven to 400°F.
- In a medium
bowl, combine the sausage, pepper, and scallions; mix well.
- Unroll one
package of crescent rolls and press the seams together to form one
large rectangle. Repeat with the second package of crescent rolls.
Spread half of the sausage mixture evenly over each rectangle;
starting from a narrow end, roll up jelly-roll style.
- Cut each
roll into eight equal slices and place on their sides on a baking
sheet to form a Christmas tree shape (see photo). Bake for 25 to
30 minutes, or until the sausage is no longer pink and the crust
is golden. Serve warm.

Scents of the Season: It's
easy to scent your home with the spicy-sweet aroma of the
holidays by combining 1 cup water, 3 or 4 whole cloves, and a
cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Simmer on the stovetop for 10
minutes. |
