Scooter Rescue Scooter Rescue is not really an election issue but rather a potential problem we need to have a solution for before it happens. In mid February Christensen Village will accept it's first residents. First to move in will be the residents of Kiwanis Village which is about 40 people. It won't be long before that number grows to One Hundred and Forty. Along with these residents will come significantly more scooters. Now this is a good thing. Scooters give handicapped people a far greater range of travel. It allows them to go to the stores and the restaurants and simply gives them the ability to enjoy life more. With a growing population of scooters comes the increased probability that one will fail or break down. Now some would argue that this is the individuals problem, not the towns. I would counter that it is the town responsibility to look after it's citizens, all its citizens. |
